Questions, answered straight
Do you accept Housing Choice Vouchers?
Yes — Section 8 / HCV, HUD-VASH and other housing assistance programs are welcome at Copper Place. We work with the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency (OHFA). Bring your voucher paperwork, including your RFTA packet if one has been issued, to your tour or application.
How fast do you return the Request for Tenancy Approval (RFTA)?
We complete our side of the RFTA and return it to your housing authority the same day we receive it, so your voucher clock doesn't burn waiting on us.
What are your screening requirements?
We apply the same rental criteria — income or benefits, rental history and background screening — to every applicant, whether or not you have a housing voucher. Ask your leasing consultant for our current written rental criteria.
Who pays utilities?
Utility responsibility depends on the unit and lease option. Ask your leasing consultant which setup applies to the unit you're interested in, so you and your caseworker can work out your voucher's utility allowance before you sign anything.
Can I pay the deposit in installments?
Deposit installment plans are available, and we accept deposit assistance from community agencies and programs. If an agency is helping with your move-in costs, have them contact us directly and we'll handle the paperwork.
What's the pet policy?
Ask your leasing consultant for our current pet policy, including any breed or weight guidelines and pet fees. Service and assistance animals are not pets and are never subject to pet fees or restrictions under fair housing law.
What documents should I bring?
Your voucher paperwork (including your RFTA packet if issued), photo ID for every adult applicant, proof of income or benefits, and your caseworker's contact information. Missing something? Apply anyway — we'll tell you exactly what's still needed.
